This cherry block is actually home to three vessels. The outside was scorched by a flame and protected with several coats of clear polyurethane. The vessels were carved into the block and reveal beautiful markings. They are finished with hand-rubbed tung oil. The contrast between the charred black surface and the warm cherry tones is striking.
