This rich piece of black cherry came from a block that I had split for my woodstove. As I looked closely at the chunk of firewood I saw an interesting twist in the grain. Saved from the fiery furnace! It won the Award of Excellence in the West Liberty State College Alumni Art Exhibition. My daughter Clara Jo, age 8, named this one.
